Digital Culture
When SPIE is talking about Digital culture, the objective is to be more productive by using Digital tools. A striking example is the use of smartphones. Now it is obvious to everyone that the use of mobile phones is more convenient than the good old fixed phone, that why every SPIE employee is equiped with. SPIE actively promotes toward his employee the usage of collaborative platforms (Teams & Skype), professional social media (Yammer) and E-learning platforms (SMILE) and decrease as much as possible the printing of document by using Digital tools.
Customer Services
Initiation and promotion of initiatives to help the digital transformation of customer services, based on the Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Cloud Services and Mobilemapps. Supporting sales with a masterplan that describes the roll-out of our digital solutions.
Smart Office and Smart Parking are good examples of new Digital Customers Services, that strengths the position of SPIE in the Smart Building and Smart City promising markets.
Operational Excellence
Our internal platforms & process are mainly based on ServiceNow, SalesForce, SAP and O365 which are partially interconnected.
This first integration of platforms is continuously improved thanks to Digital program in order to automate our work processes as much as possible, and to move towards end to end fully digital processes. Our process owners are collaborating with Digital Team in order to continuously digitalize their process & procedures by using the most appropriate platforms. An ROD (Return on Digitalization) is evaluate for any initiative before implementing it, in order to scale & prioritize our Digital Roadmap correctly.
Some examples of Digital Transformation
MTS ERP Evolution
A major upgrade of the MTS ERP (Office Manager) was recently completed. This has led to several important digital enhancement that have greatly increased team productivity. Salary slips are sent by email, document access & scanning has been optimized. Digital Workflow process as massively decrease the printing volume. User profiling has also improved the security of access to sensitive information’s. The digitalization of work sheets (use of smartphones by our field technicians) is also in progress and will enable administrative assistants to be relieved of their workload.
Skills Management
The centralized Skills Management of SPIE ICS allows top management to quickly get strategic information on the number and level of excellence of our employees by specialization. Team leaders use the solution for evaluating the skills of their team and adapt the training plan. Employee can only access to the own skills matrix. The ServiceNow Operation platform has been selected to allow an automatic matching of skills with the required tasks (for troubleshooting in particular) to simplify and speed up the dispatching.
Data Business Model
The acquisition and analysis of real-time data and data flows from various systems provide insights to our management for faster decisions. Often these data are not available in a uniform form, instead a wide range of data are recorded, such as statistics, measured values or log files. With the help of the Power BI platform, all information and data obtained can be processed and placed in context sometimes with other data.
The first project was measurements of cars occupation with cameras of a parking by customer Ville de Lausanne and dashboarding of purchasing orders from SPIE MTS. Power BI enables to visualize and analyze all this information with simple queries in the form of comprehensive dashboards
